Free Redbox Monday

For those of you who don't have texting, or don't want to waste the few that you do have, here's the free rental code for Redbox for tonight:

Eagle Eye

Worth watching. A fun idea, but a bit predictable.

Netflix

I think I'm in love. I'm a SAHM who doesn't have a car during the day and hates to make her poor commuting husband go anywhere after he gets home even if it's just to pick out a movie to watch together, so it is SO wonderful to have them show up in the mail. Plus, they have tons available online for instant download. It's not every movie you've ever heard of online, but it's a lot and totally worth it for the vast amount of television shows available. Check them out, browse their selection, try the two week trial. That's what we're during right now and I think I'm hooked.

PS We also took a look at the Blockbuster online rentals which we heard used to be better, but now they've added SO many restrictions to how many you can rent, how many you can return to the store, etc. that it's just ridiculous. Not to mention their site is SO not user-friendly.

City of Ember

Okay. I think it was probably a better book than a movie, although I've never read it. Bill Murray as the villain, although surprisingly less cheesy than expected, still says a lot about the movie as a whole.

Traitor

Might have rated it more, but without giving anything away, I feel it would have been a stronger movie had it ended differently. A different ending (I have a specific one in mind if you ever want to know just email me) would have made it more cohesive, but even then, it was still very enjoyable.

Seven Pounds

A beautiful tragedy. Definitely a tragedy...but well-made and very well acted. Supporting actress, Rosario Dawson, was great and played well off of Will Smith.

Night at the Museum

Amazingly, I haven't seen this one until recently. Fun family movie. Parts had me rolling.

Journey to the Center of the Earth

Tabi says: 2.5 stars

Fun family movie. Had Liam glued which is saying a lot being that it's not animated. Cheesy, but not overly. Probably a fun movie to watch 3D, you could tell where they were trying to draw attention to it.

North by Northwest

Tabi says: 4 stars

Engaging plotline and well-acted. Very enjoyable, but more risque than I expected. No wonder it's a classic. Definitely deserved.

High School Musical 3

Tabi says: 2.5 stars

Watched it with our neices, and I liked it better than I thought I would. Choreography is better than either of the other two HSMs. Catchy songs. Fun to watch with a certain crowd...say 4-15 year old girls.
